Membership Updates

If you’re reading this, it means you’ve been training with me since the beginning of ACME Barbell Club, and I truly appreciate your loyalty and support. I’ve always taken pride in having the most affordable rates in Scottsdale while providing a high-quality training experience. That being said, I haven’t raised prices for existing clients since 2017, but with rising business costs and inconsistencies in training frequency, it’s become necessary to make some adjustments.

Rest assured, these are still the absolute lowest personal training rates you’ll find anywhere.

What’s Changing?

Starting March 1st, we’re transitioning to this auto-billed membership model that includes:

  • No more running out of sessions and you’ll be able to train as often as you want Monday through Friday.

  • Bi-Weekly or monthly billing options with weekly or yearly billing available upon request.

  • No more having to manually purchase packages every month or gaps between sessions.

  • No long-term commitment whatsoever.

With this change, depending on how often you’ve been training, some rates may increase slightly to create a more sustainable structure, but unlimited sessions mean you can train more often, which helps offset the increase.

WhY

  • My pricing was originally based on the assumption that most clients would train 3–4 times per week, which is the recommended amount to see results. However, the average client trains closer to 1–2 times per week, making the current pricing unsustainable. To make up for that gap, I’d have to double everyone’s rates—something I’d rather avoid.

    Additionally many clients take time off between packages, creating gaps in training. This makes it harder for you to build momentum in your program and harder for me to maintain a stable, predictable business model.

  • Another reason for this change is the rising cost of running the gym—rent, insurance, utilities, and maintenance have all gone up. I’ve absorbed these increases for as long as possible without raising rates, but a more stable and predictable system is needed to keep up

  • A stable, predictable system allows me to reinvest in the gym—upgrading equipment, replacing worn-out gear, and making improvements to enhance your training experience.

Rather than doubling rates to sustain my business model, I’m implementing an auto-billed membership system that provides unlimited sessions while creating consistency for both of us.

This system has already been in place for all new clients over the past two years, and it’s been working extremely well. Clients on auto-billing train more than twice as often as package-based clients, leading to better progress and results.

  • No long-term commitment whatsoever. While I’d appreciate a heads-up, you’re free to pause for up to a month or cancel at anytime.

  • More frequent training leads to better results. Also, because of the flat rate for unlimited sessions,m the more you train, the less it works out to per session.

How Rates Are Set

To keep the transition fair, I created rate four rate “tiers” based on your average package price over the past six months.

One flat rate would mean a sharp increase for less frequent clients, so this tiered approach allows for a smoother shift. This means that initially, some people may be paying different rates than others. If you’ve been training 4+ times per week, your rate should stay about the same. If you’ve been training less, your cost may increase but will initially be lower than those training more often.
